2023-24 Project Goal
- Ensure that students in grades 1-3 meet or exceed grade level in reading and math by the end of the school year
- The Education & Research Committee will identify and provide necessary support to the teachers and the school to achieve this goal
- Recommendations from the Committee and next steps will be announced when the Committee completes it's assessment
Enrollment Initiative
Provided Financial Aid to 17 first grade students to create a base for the program to ensure that 25 first graders are enrolled for the school year. Note that grades 1-3 normally have 8-10 students each
- Grade 1 enrollment 25 students vs 8 that had enrolled!!
- Grade 2 enrollment 11 students
- Grade 3 enrollment 12 students
Text Books Initiative
Purchased text and workbooks for all first, second and third graders (~48 students)
- Student's normally do not have access to books due to financial constraints. This lack of a basic and fundamental tool has hampered the students' learning process.
Scholarships
Awarded two scholarships to two 12th grade students
Teacher Financial Support:
Supplemented salary of the phonics teacher
